Boca Raton, FL (September 6, 2022) The Habilitation Center (HabCenter) is pleased to announce that Sherry A. Henry is the organization’s new Director of Development.

As Director of Development, Sherry will oversee fundraising efforts at HabCenter that support the critical needs of the adult individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities they serve—many of whom are disenfranchised and economically challenged.

Prior to this position, Sherry worked in higher education for 19 years. Most recently she served as Associate Director of Annual Giving at Lynn University where she was responsible for development operations and was instrumental in growing the annual fund program, raising scholarship funds for students with financial need and spearheading the university’s Giving Days and Crowdfunding campaigns.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to help our clients at the HabCenter and will champion the cause that allows them to be empowered and valued,” said Sherry A. Henry. “My goal is to enhance our mission to equip our people with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to lead useful and productive lives with dignity, respect, and independence.”

Sherry received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Psychology, Cum Laude, from Lynn University and her Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Lynn University.

Sherry has various certifications and memberships including Florida Notary Public Commission, Council for Advancement and Support Education, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business Management and Administration, Nonprofits First and Golden Key International Honor Society. Sherry will also serve as a member of the Leadership Team at HabCenter.
