Boca Raton, FL (September 30, 2021) The Habilitation Center (HabCenter) is pleased to announce that Mindy Shikiar has joined its board of directors.
Mindy Shikiar has more than 30 years of progressive health care experience, starting as a registered nurse, evolving her career into healthcare administration in diverse hospital and healthcare settings. She is the recipient of numerous leadership awards and top performance recognition.
Most recently, Mindy served as the COO at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, a division of Baptist South Florida. From 2003 through 2021, she held various leadership positions, including Executive Director of Quality Effectiveness and Vice President of Clinical Operations. As COO, she had executive oversight of hospital operations, including Oncology, Neurology, Ancillary Services, and Ambulatory Services.
Before joining the hospital, Mindy served as CEO and COO of Kindred, a long-term acute care facility for critically ill/medically complex patients in Fort Lauderdale.
Her healthcare career includes numerous nursing leadership positions: Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Director of Quality and Case Management.
She recently supported the George Snow Foundation by participating in their Signature Annual Fundraising Event – Ballroom Battle, 2021. Mindy is also the recipient of the Innovator Award as part of the 2021 Girl Scouts South Florida Emerald Award Ceremony.
Mindy was first introduced to the HabCenter through Leadership Boca when she had the opportunity to tour the Center. She immediately recognized the significance the HabCenter had on the lives of their clients and families. “I’m at the point of my life where I want to give back and support organizations whose mission is to improve the lives of those in need,” Mindy shares. “The HabCenter allows their clients to earn a living, contribute to society, and most importantly, develop a sense of pride in their work and themselves. I am proud to be part of this Board.”
