How long have you been with/involved with HabCenter?
I have been a dedicated employee of the HabCenter since April 2018 and I am loving it! I will not trade this job for any other jobs out there.
.
What makes HabCenter so unique for those with special needs in our community?
We provide training and specialized skills to prepare our clients for employment in the community; some of them remain working at HabCo for years. One of our clients has been with us for 43 years.
.
Why did you choose to become involved?
It was an opportunity I could not resist, being able to work side by side with our clients.
.
What are your goals?
My long term goal is to retire from the HabCenter. My immediate goal is to grow the business and to be able to provide training and work for our Clients.
.
What is your favorite aspect of HabCenter?
Leaving in the afternoon, stress free after a long day of work.
.
What would you want the community to know about the clients, programs and/or services at the HabCenter?
The community should know we exist and the great work we are doing for our clients. I suggest everyone follow us on our social media sites and check out our website www.habcenter.org
.
Is there a specific memorable moment that stands out to you that made you think, “this is why I’m involved with HabCenter”?
I enjoy helping people, it gives me a sense of gratification. Whenever I see someone in distress or needing help, I would stop and offer my assistance. I have saved several lives in the past, near death situations that is one of the reasons why I joined the Plantation Fire Department as a voluntary Fire Fighter. But, creating jobs for our clients and finding jobs in the community for them is by far, the most memorable moment for me.
.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I believe unity is strength and always have a can do attitude.
