Welcome HabCenter’s New Board of Director – Sonni (Jay) Johnson!

HabCenter Boca Raton proudly welcomes Sonni (Jay) Johnson to our Board of Directors. Sonni is a visionary and purpose-driven leader in the financial services industry, widely respected for his strategic insight, people-first leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. With a career defined by continuous growth and a passion for developing high-performing teams, Sonni brings both clarity of vision and precision in execution to every opportunity he leads.

Guided by his personal mantra—“Brave enough to ask for help, intuitive enough to solve an issue, smart enough to ask questions, and authentic enough to be transparent”—Sonni leads with empathy, integrity, and a strong sense of service. His client-centric approach has helped individuals and families not only achieve but exceed their financial goals, while his leadership has driven sustainable growth across portfolios exceeding $1.5 billion.

Sonni is known for setting high standards, implementing effective sales processes, and conducting impactful At Your Best Reviews to drive accountability and performance. His ability to align internal teams and external partners ensures that both clients and the organization benefit from a unified, results-driven approach.

Beyond the office, Sonni is a dedicated community advocate. He has served as a regional liaison for Feeding America, Suits for Seniors, and United Way, and currently chairs the Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce Leads Group, where he fosters meaningful connections between local businesses and the broader community.

Sonni is married with five children and resides in Boca Raton, where he remains committed to serving and uplifting the community through leadership, collaboration, and action.

About the HabCenter:

HabCenter Boca Raton is a nonprofit organization that opened its doors in 1978 to equip adults with special needs with the knowledge, skills, and behavior needed to lead useful and productive lives with dignity, respect, and independence. HabCenter provides a safe, enriching environment to empower the spirit of those individuals it serves and encourage their unlimited potential. Essential programs the HabCenter offers are Social Services, and mental-wellness counseling, Developmental Training, Programs in Education, Art and Recreation (P.E.A.R.), and Vocational Training within HabCo Manufacturing and the HabCenter Plant Nursery that provide horticultural training. HabCenter also offers local businesses and universities partnership opportunities through HabCo Manufacturing, the Nursery and counseling, special education and occupational therapy internship programs. HabCenter also has a Supported Employment program, which provides competitive integrated employment (CIE) opportunities for clients who can work in the community by preparing them with the knowledge, skills and behaviors they need to be successful.
