Julie attended the USA National Special Olympic games in Orlando from June 3rd -12th. Julie is on the Open Water Special Olympic team for Broward County. The Open Water Swim included the United States and the Caribbean; a total of four swimmers from Broward and five swimmers from Miami-Dade represented South Florida at the Olympics. Julie swam Lucky’s Lake mile in 23 minutes and 19 seconds, which made her the fastest woman in her age division (30-40)!
“She had a fantastic time. There were 5,500 athletes from the U.S. and the Caribbean. There were many competitions, activities, and of course, Disney World. She was honored to be a part of these wonderful games and will never forget this incredible experience!” – Leah, Julie’s Mom.
We are so incredibly proud of Julie. Congratulations from all of us at the HabCenter!
